Karachi Will Have Four New Housing Schemes
Four new housing plans shall be launched in Karachi by the Karachi Development Authority.
Dr Badar Jamil Mandhro, Director General of the Authority, informed that next week the KDA is to finalize the plans. A notice has already been issued by the local government secretary.
These residential schemes will be built in the town of Surjani, Federal B Area, 1 Korangi and the KDA Scheme (behind Lal Qila on Shara e Faisal) and are being developed for lower-income populations. Dr. Mandhro said that they are going to publish advertisements on these plans in papers.
“The housing schemes contain both flats and plots measuring 80 square yards, 120 square yards, 200 square yards and 240 square yards,” he explained.
These are the KDA's first housing plans in 20 years. The last was the housing scheme in 1999 close the five-star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad.
He added that a 13-member auction committee composed of NAB officers and the anti-corruption would be set up to auction off the commodity property collected through the anti-encroachment drive. This month, the auction will take place. There will be no change in the nature of the amenities through the auction.
There will also be a 15-strong anti-encroachment force comprising Rangers, police and KDA officers to clear others that encroached on the land
“It is our prime responsibility to retrieve the lands of the allotees,” said Dr Mandhro, The victim can contact the office of the KDA General Director directly in order to file a claim.
