Punjab CM Has Visited PDMA Office; Made Suggestions for Improvement

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Provincial Disaster Administrator's (PDMA) Head Office to examine their activities and suggested, that they should enhance the multiple tasks of PDMA and related bodies.

He instructed the staff in the department to increase its effectiveness with the Early Warning System for natural disasters. The CM thought that the authorities had room to enhance their strategy against the risk of natural disasters.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) was advised to accelerate the water drainage method and use all available funds for water suppression. The traffic police are instructed to maintain uninterrupted traffic.

The range of the PDMA is to be extended to the county level gradually. In the conference he chaired, Buzdar ensured that the necessary funds were supplied in due course for this change. In addition, a suggestion was discussed for introducing groundwater recharging schemes in metropolitan regions and the drinking water technology was reviewed.
