Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Will Carry Out Crackdown Against Commercial Use of Residential Buildings

Rawalpindi: After Eid ul Fitr, a crackdown will be launched against owners using residential buildings for commercial purposes.  It is decided by The Rawalpindi Chaklala Board (RCB) reported a news source. The board shall seal these buildings in the first phase of the action and then in the second phase cancel its lease agreements.

In this regard, there is also a plan in place for the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, which has drawn up notices for 125 residential buildings used for commercial purposes. After Eid-ul-Fitr these notices will be served to the owner.

The Chaklala Board, on the other hand, has already given notifications to the owners of 50 buildings that were used as the Beauty Parlor, massage center, clinic, office, showroom, wedding or storage space in residential buildings.

In this process, the owners shall be notified with a deadline to end their business operations after the Cantonment and Chaklala Boards notify the building owners with the Sections of 185 and 256 of the Cantonment Act of 1924.

The boards will cancel lease agreements issued against the owner in the case of non-compliance. Where the property identified is built on private property, the Board will ask the Revenue Department to take the appropriate measures.
