More Funds for Malakand Tunnel Offered Exim Bank

Islamabad: A news source reported that the Exim Bank of Korea mainly agreed to allocate more fund for building the Malakand Tunnel project. During his meeting presided over by Senator Hidayat Ullah, the Senate Standing Committee on Communications revealed this information.


The meeting said that due to design changes, the costs for the dual-carriageway project were increased. President Jawad Rafique Malik of the National Highway Authority (NHA) said that the consultant who changes the Concept-I project will be responsible for increased costs.

He added that e-billing has been introduced by the Communications Ministry so each project completion goals will be set and their delays will be marked. The ministry will thus be able to take action against the officer concerned, he said.


The President of the NHA said that the e-billing system will begin to operate after Eid.
