A Step Taken by Karachi Government to Develop I.I. Chundrigar Road

KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to develop and beautify the main road of Karachi, known as I.I. Chundrigar Road. The work will start from Shaheen Complex to Tower in cooperation with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan Banking Association (PBA), Pakistan Railways (PR) and with major business and trade organisations located on the road.

This was proposed in a meeting held here on Monday, presided over by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah and attended by a delegation of bankers led by SBP Managing Director (MD) Ashraf Khan, along with other relevant officials.

The meeting discussed the important project features that the Sindh Government would implement in cooperation with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Karachi Development Authority (KDA), and KW&SB, and other related departments.

The Chief Secretary spoke about the impact of the Karachi Neighborhood Project and wanted a feasibility study for the project. He reaffirmed that all stakeholders should contribute to funding.

The Commissioner for Karachi ordered to remove unwanted footpath area that is used by the banks for parking vehicles etc. for the better implementation of the project.
