A New Wave of Operation Launched Against Illegal Housing Schemes in Gujranwala

A news source reported that the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) has once again tackled the illegal housing and land subdivisions in the city. On its recent actions, development authority razed site offices, roads and sewerage systems in eight land subdivisions and two unauthorized housing developments.

This latest operation was initiated by GDA Chairman Sheik Amir Rehman and the Deputy Commissioner for Gujranwala Naila Baqir. For the last several months, the GDA Enforcement Cell has carried out the operation.

For this phase, Mirza Shah Zamán, the Director of the GDA Enforcement Cell, with other officers and members of police forces launched a crackdown on illegal schemes in Wazirabad.

The developers and owners of these unauthorized schemes were found to sell plots without acquiring a NOC from GDA.

Gujranwala DC, Naila  Baqir told the media that it would continue without discrimination against illegally developed projects and developments. Before the official launch of their projects, the developers were advised to apply for a NOC from GDA.
