Four Major Generals Are Promoted to Lieutenant Generals: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan army has promoted four major generals to the rank of lieutenant generals.


The ISPR has confirmed the news that the Maj Gen Muhammad Aamer, Maj General Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Maj Gen Nadeem Ahmed Zia, and Maj Gen Khalid Zia. 

The General Officer of the commanding10 Division (Lahore) is Maj Gen Muhammad Aamer while Maj Gen Muhammad Chiragh Haider is currently the General Director of Military Training. Maj General Nadeem Ahmad Anjum, Commander of Staff college Quetta, and Maj Gen Khalid Zia is General Officer, Commander commander (GOC) 33 division (Quetta).

After three lieutenant generals retired in the last week of the current month, the promoted officers are to take up new posts. The incumbent Joint chairperson of the Staff Committee (CJCSC), Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat, will retire from service another vacancy will come in the last week of November.

The three 3-star generals to be retired this month include Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, former director General ISPR, presently acting as Southern Command Commander (Quetta) Lt Gen Aamer Riaz President of the National Defence University (NDU) and Pakistan Ordnance Factory Chairman Lt Gen Sadiq Ali.
