‘Kashmir Hour’ will be observed on Friday on the call of PM

  • Sirens to blare across country at noon on 30 August: ISPR
  • Defense day will be celebrated with the theme "Kashmir banay ga Paksitan"

ISPR Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said on Wednesday that, in line with government announcements for ' Kashmir Hour ' at 12 p.m. on August 30, National Anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir will also play on Friday.

Sirens will also be blared on ' Kashmir Hour, ' Ghafoor said at a conference on the matter of observance of defense and martyr’s day ceremonies on 6 September. According to a press release by the army media wing, civilian and army officials from all over Pakistan took part in the meeting. Ghafoor invited teenagers, in particular students, to participate in the initiative, adding that among the individuals demonstrating their solidarity with Kashmiris would be national heroes, entertainment sector and media representatives. While he was talking about the September event i.e. Defence Day, He said General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Staff of the Army, would meet with the families of martyrs and Ghazis (victorious), while celebrations would be conducted throughout the country.

The slogan "Kashmir banay ga Pakistan (Kashmir will be made a part of Pakistan)" will also be introduced in that day's events, he informed the media.

During his speech to the country on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that every week an event would take place to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir, from 12 pm to 12:30 pm on Friday (30 August).

"They (India) have played their trump card, they don't have any card to play now. Now whatever needs to be done will be done by us and the world," He said as he took the country into confidence on the Government's plan for Indian-occupied Kashmir policy. 

While on sept 27, Prime Minister Imran will address the UN General Assembly to bring into light the problem of Kashmir and also the atrocities that India is carrying in Kashmir.
