Balochistan Has Introduced Livestock & Dairy Policy 2019

Islamabad: According to a media source, the govt of Balochistan intends its 2019 Live and Dairy Policy in an attempt to strengthen animal husbandry and dairy in the province. The strategy derives from the vision of Premier Imran Khan to revive the livestock industry in order to alleviate poverty and improve the standard of living of rural people.

Recently, the Government has assigned 52 million PKR to bovine animal husbandry improvements in seven districts of Mastung, 10 million PKR to wool and research facility operationalization, and 250 million PKR to establish animal circle centres in Qila Abdullah, Taftan, Zhob, and Gwadar for FY19-20.

The government has also assigned 100 million PKR of funding for the rehabilitation of the slaughterhouse on the western bypass of Quetta.

The PSDP has assigned 722 million PKR to support livestock industry growth under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). The annual expenses for the livestock and dairy development department were lately announced to receive a grant of PKR 4,027 billion.

Also, a public official said that there will be 150 fresh jobs in veterinary doctors to combat unemployment and improve animal treatment services. He also showed that the govt plans to establish in Balochistan 23 civilian veterinary clinics.
