Govt Decides to Jail High-Net-Worth Tax Evaders in Pakistan
Islamabad: A media source reported that from June 21 onwards the govt has decided to jail high-net-worth tax evaders (residents of the country's ten major cities).
It would start against billionaires from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Peshawar.
In relation to asset data and reports of approximately four million people, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently completed its data acquisition process.
According to accounts, the estate information of these people is now accessible to the FBR, which has also established software with the NADRA to track the wealthy tax evaders.
In addition, the software is programmed to reveal an individual's asset information by following their CNIC figures.
