Sindh Govt Pledges to Work on Red Line BRT Project
Karachi: The govt of Sindh has launched a work in connection with the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) initiative. This is a result of an assessment of Karachi's transport and housing requirements connected with the Green Line BRT initiative managed by the federal government.
The provincial government intends to finish the undertaking by 2021. It is anticipated that USD 88 million will be spent on the project. Together with other shareholders, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will contribute USD 474,321 million.
The proposal Red Line BRT includes the construction of 29,1 km corridors in length. In order to track project development, implementation, operation and safety, the Sindh Mass Transport Authority and Trans Karachi Company have been assigned duties.
Sources also indicate that the initiative will generate a substantial amount of employment following the effective implementation of the Red Line BRT. The project requires of approximately 2,118 people to meet the accomplishment.
