Babusar Top Road landowners will get fair compensation after 17 years
Peshawar: The local government and the communication ministry were directed by a Senate panel to compensate those who have contributed their land for
' Kaghan-Babusar Top Road ' as per the current market rates. According to a news source.
The landowners said that the authorities concerned still have to pay their payments of the project which was launched 17 years ago, “The Kaghan-Babusar Top Road”.
The issue was taken by a Senate sub-committee meeting on communication. Senator Behramand Khan Tangi, National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Jawad Rafiq Malik, and other concerned officials were all present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed by Senator Salahuddin Tirmizi that 380 million PKR were valued about 17 years ago in terms of the land for the project. He added that the landowners requested the revised market rates to receive PKR 2.16 billion.
However, the Mansehra district government proposed PKR 1.47 billion for compensation. The NHA officials are also in discussions with the land providers.
Senator Tangi replied that the request made by the property owners for an unpaid 6 per cent charge is justified. He ordered the relevant authorities to immediately resolve the matter.
