The American Secretary of State’s Alice Wells to Arrive in Islamabad Next Week
ISLAMABAD: An important talk session in Islamabad will take place next week in Pakistan and the United States.
The US Delegation, headed by South and Central Asian Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Alice Wells, will arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday to discuss economic and business relations according to diplomatic sources.
Next Week, the Deputy Secretary-General Will Discuss Economic Relations.
Sources state that Pakistan will also include regional security issues agenda for the talks.
Representatives should also consider different ways of promoting relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Last year in November when Ambassador Wells visited Pakistan, Islamabad and Washington agree to consider different ways of promoting relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
During a day-visit then, she called for Asad Umer, the then Finance Minister and also held a talk with Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A foreign ministry statement said that the meeting took stock of the agreements reached between Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to re-establish relations based on mutual trust and respect.
The statement said that the Pakistani side emphasized the diversification of relations between the two countries, with a special focus on increased economic and commercial cooperation.
