A Huge Progress In Orange Line Metro Train As Two Coaches Reach Lahore

Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) is the latest venture in Lahore to provide world-class open transportation. As per the latest updates, three coaches and two engines of OLMT have arrived at Lahore from China. OLMT will import 27 sets of 5 cars each from China. 23 sets are expected to reach Lahore by the end of 2017.

According to the concerning authorities, around 72% development work has been completed. The rest will finish soon and it's the goal of Punjab Government to ensure that OLMT is operational by the end of this year. The venture will be a huge step towards the enhancement of Lahore's public transportation.

Orange Line Metro Train is part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which additionally is a part of One Belt One Road Initiative. The purpose of this project is the provision of efficient transportation framework to the provisional capital; Lahore. LDA is currently working on Lahore Master Plan 2042 to make Lahore a world-class city. Around 250,000 individuals will use OLMT on regular basis and the capacity will be expanded to 500,000 travelers in future.

The total length of the track is 27.1 kilometer of which 25.4 km is elevated while the remaining 1.72 km is underground. The operating pace of the OLMT will be 80km/hr. The track will have 26 stations, will begin from Ali Town close Thokar Niaz Baig and will end in Dera Gujjran close to Quaid E Azam Interchange of Lahore Ring Road.
