Luxury Apartment or House - Which One’s The Better Option?
In Pakistan, apartment culture is slowly rising, mostly because of a large part of the country’s population lives in the younger age bracket and also because of speedy development in the country. A few years back, apartment culture was only prevalent in Karachi, but now, there has been a rapid increase in apartment construction, especially in Lahore and Islamabad due to a surge in demand. According to a recent report, increase in apartment buying in the last decade has been around 7-9%.
There are several ongoing luxury apartment projects in Lahore and Islamabad. Some of these projects are in Lahore (Pentasquare in DHA phase 5, Goldcrest mall and residency, Hyatt Regency) and some of these are in Islamabad (Imperial Towers, Jinnah Emporium, Madina Mall and Residency). These luxury apartments provide top-level facilities and they are mostly semi furnished. But when you’re searching for some good living options, it becomes difficult for you to decide whether you should go for an apartment or a house. Here’s a guide to help you with your decision.

If you are thinking about purchasing or renting a place, the most important thing is how much it costs. In most cases, an apartment is less expensive as compared to a home due to more construction area in the latter. For those people, who are newly married or who are just about to start their career and they have a limited budget, in that case, the apartment is a preferable choice.
Most apartments are usually smaller in size as compared to a home, that’s why this is also an important factor. Modern apartment projects are offering small green areas and terraces but you cannot compare them with lawns, front yards, backyards or garages available in a home. But at the same time, luxurious apartments come up with specific conveniences, such as stores, gyms, pools, gardens, laundry facilities, and 24/7 security monitoring.
Generally, small young families and newly married couples do not require a lot of space, however, apartments offer more options in terms of sizes like two or three bedroom apartments, studio apartments and can provide great facilities to the people living there.
One disadvantage of living in an apartment is being heavily surrounded by neighbors on all sides and there’s also a risk of having no privacy in an apartment either. Each building has 2-4 apartments on each floor, so living in an apartment can be very noisy. There’s a chance that all of your neighbors might not be as friendly as you are, and if any of them decided to host a party, it’d become a nightmare for the rest of the floor. But some people might like being surrounded by so many neighbors as they feel more safe with being a part of the community.
Your Living Preferences:
In the end, it all depends on your living preferences, financial situation and family size. There are advantages and disadvantages of both living in a house or apartment. It totally depends on your priority.
